This is my first official post of this new blog of mine.....I decided that I am going to try it again. Don't hold your breath!
I was just out weeding the ivy out of my flower beds. I managed to get one side done, the side that is the worst. As I was doing this, I was thinking of what could be done to make this ivy stuff stay away for good. The way that I see it, I have one of two options: 1.) hire a gardener to weed everyday for me or 2.) find something that I can spray that may help kill the blasted stuff.
One of the 2 above ways is not very frugal at all and since this is a blog about becoming frugal, the hot gardener is out. What I did find were some things around the house that can be used and are very inexpensive. 1.) white vinegar- I love this stuff. I use it in my kitchen. I wipe my counters off with it, my dining room table, any other general cleaning, in my dishwasher as a rinse agent and sometimes in my laundry as a fabric softener. 2.) salt- everyone has this in their home. 3.) salt and vinegar together. 4.) liquid dish soap 5.) boiling water 6.) lemon juice.
I am thinking that I am going to try the vinegar one and will report back to you all how well it works.
